Bay Area Author, Wanda Lee-Stevens, joins us for a reading and an open and honest discussion on race.
In her book, “50 Years of Assimilation, From the Midwest to the Wild West and All the Blackness & Whiteness In-Between”, she details American blackness and whiteness with blunt, revealing, and humorous episodes. She modernizes the race conversation with an intimate account of personal, cultural, and societal experiences that uniquely report on the progress, and/or lack thereof, of MLK’s “Dream” for the last 50 years.
She will share with us why this book is relevant, read an excerpt, and have questions and dialogues with guests.
In the words of Oprah Winfrey, “We cannot begin to heal, until we are first willing to hear.” Please join us, let’s talk.
